Rear suspension bushes.
Here I'll try to explain why I haven't changed the suspension bushes in the rear
suspension of my car yet.
Last weekend I had it all planned; found a dude that had airtools and a warm
workshop, and on top of that it would be for free. We started out and jacked the
car up, put it on stands, removed the wheels. Then the dude mentioned earlier crawled
underneath to check out what we had to do. When he came out again he said:
"everything must be taken down." And by everything he meant everything: both rear
trailing arms, brakes, dampers, springs, rear diff assembly, exhaust and at last
the rear beam (which passes over the front-to-rear propel shaft). So it would have takes three of us at least 8-10 hours. Which I couldn't
let them do in the middle of the night for free. So when summer and vacation comes
I'll try one more time. But it sure is a lot of work.
If anyone has changed the rear bushings on a Sierra RS Cosworth or Escort RS Cosworth, and think that the way I think it must be done is very slow compared to their way of doing it: Then please send me a mail and let me know how to do it right (I'll even put the description here with the submitters name on it).
